WGTE Public Media is convening a special Literacy Summit for the community to discuss the current state of school readiness among children and how we can work together to improve early literacy outcomes in our region.
This event marks the official end of the five-yearlong Raising Readers grant, which enabled WGTE to increase reading and literacy outcomes among disadvantaged children aged 2 – 8 living in the 43605 and 43609 zip codes. But this isn’t the end of WGTE’s efforts. Rather, we see this as a beginning!
Opening Keynote Address by Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur. Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, who represents Northern Ohio’s Ninth Congressional. District, is currently serving her fourteenth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is the senior-most woman in the 111th Congress.
