The Adolescence and Autism training series scheduled to begin on Friday, January 13, is rescheduled to begin on February 10. This series will now be limited to two meeting dates, February 10 and March 9. Participants registered for the January 13 training date should be sure to register for both the February and March dates if they plan to attend.
The State Support Team Region 6 will host the two-day training which will focus on adolescence and how it impacts individuals with ASD and Low Incidence disabilities in middle/high school. Denise Caruso, consultant from the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence, will address content which includes challenges that face adolescents: puberty, demands of middle/high school, social implications, needs of families, and evidence based strategies for adolescents with ASD. Register for each day separately. The training dates are February 10 and March 9. Each session will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event location is the State Support Team office in Wapakoneta.
