The Autism Society of Ohio is Moving!
As of August 1, 2010, the Autism Society will be moving to 470 Glenmont Ave., Columbus, Ohio, 43214. Our phone number will remain the same, but our new fax number will be (614) 754-6332. We will be sharing space with with Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI) which will provide us greater opportunities for collaboration. We are very excited about our new office! The Governor’s Council on People with Disabilities (GCPD) has selected the Marla Root as the recipient of the 2010 “Advocacy” Award. Taylor Krcek nominated her for this prestigious award. Due Process Hearing Resolution Period - New Federal Regulations Issued
The Office for Special Education Programs (OSEP) has issued guidance to state education agencies concerning the timeliness of due process hearing request resolutions. OSEP has a long standing concern about the amount of time it takes to reach decisions in due process hearings. The Office for Exceptional Children/Ohio Department of Education (OEC/ODE) now requires a copy of the current Individual Education Plan, from the district of residence, for any student who is approved for the Autism Scholarship Program. Motorcycle Ride Now For Autism - proceeds benefit Autism Society of Ohio!
The Ride will begin at A.D. Farrow Harley Davidson at Northstar in Sunbury Ohio on Saturday July 31, 2010 with registration beginning at 9:45 and first bikes out at 11 and end at Quaker Steak and Lube on Lyra Drive in Columbus Ohio...The stops are still being planned and confirmed but will be in either southern Morrow and Delaware Counties..All of the proceeds from the ride will go to various autism charities Read more...
