Kasich Announces ODJFS Director and Minority Affairs Director
Gov. John Kasich has announced the removal of the interim label from Department of Job and Family Services Director Michael Colbert. Mr. Colbert previously served as the agency's chief financial officer in the Strickland Administration and has been interim director since former Director Douglas Lumpkin's departure last month. Mr. Colbert is the first minority named by the Governor for a major cabinet post. Governor Kasich also announced that he has hired Lynn Stevens to head outreach and liaison efforts with the state's minority communities as director of Minority Affairs.Read more...

The RSC Map - Second Quarter Progress Highlights
RSC has issued the second installment on progress made in their "RSC Map" in following through on the commitment we made to 1,400 Ohioans who spoke with us during our Café Conversations. Our commitment was to listen, act and report on the actions we initiated. The RSC Map outlines the key themes we heard and how we intend to respond. This report highlights some of the steps RSC has taken to make the initiatives on the Map active in the lives of Ohioans with disabilities. Each quarter, we will update RSC's Map progress. We’re excited to announce plans for the inaugural Autism Puzzle Shootout program, which made its debut in Central Ohio this Friday, January 14th at Dublin Coffman High School. The Shamrocks hosted Upper Arlington in what was be the first of a series of at least 8 high school games over the next 4 weeks. The concept is to provide high school students with information about the autism epidemic and create a forum where they can show support for awareness and fundraising efforts in Central Ohio. Students will compete with other area schools in a fundraising effort. Many students will wear “1 in 110” themed tshirts, to represent the current diagnosis rate of autism in America, according to the Centers for Disease Control. The winning school will receive free food for all students from NBC partner Raising Cane’s.
