Ohio Receives Three‐Year Federal Grant for Autism Project
A federal grant was awarded this week to the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) to implement a collaborative project for improving services for children and youth with autism. The project, REAL Action in Ohio, will be completely funded by the federal grant, with $243,092 allotted this year and an estimated $300,000 each of the next two years. The REAL Action in Ohio project brings together a partnership to work collectively to improve information about, and access to, comprehensive, coordinated health care and related services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities and their families. Ride the Rails with the Autism Society
Join us on Saturday, September 17, 2011 for a train ride through the Hocking Hills! The train departs from the Nelsonville station at 6pm and proceeds from the ticket sales benefit the Autism Society. The ride lasts a little over 2 hours. Read more...
The Ohio Department of Education has issued Report Cards for the 2009-2010 school year
The iLRC is an interactive tool developed for parents, educators, lawmakers, community members, and researchers to provide current and historical Local Report Card data. You will be able to locate information about your school or district such as proficiency test results, graduation rates, financial data, and demographics. Read more...
Participate in Survey On Special Education in Ohio
You are invited to participate in a short survey (multiple choice questions) designed to obtain insights and perspectives on the condition of special education services in Ohio. The survey is an important part of the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities' (OCECD) Special Education Redesign Project. The primary focus of the project is to determine the strengths and weaknesses of Ohio's special education system and then to use this knowledge to help make judgments about policy and program changes that would improve educational outcomes for children with disabilities.
