We need your help! The effort to pass autism insurance coverage (House Bill 8) continues to move forward in Ohio. HB 8 has already passed in the Ohio House of Representatives and needs to pass through the Ohio Senate and signed by the Governor before the end of the year.
In conjunction with the Alliance for Autism Insurance Reform (which includes other organizations working on HB 8) starting this coming week we will be conducting a statewide grassroots call-in campaign targeting seven key senators. Autism Insurance coverage is closer that ever and HB8 must be passed by the Ohio Senate before the end of this General Assembly. Ohio families can’t afford to wait any longer!
So starting this Monday, September 20, 2010, depending on where you live in Ohio, make calls to the following key Senators to help get HB8 passed in the State Senate:
Monday: Senator John Carey at 614-466-‐8156 and Senator Shannon Jones at 614-466-9737
Tuesday: Senator Steve Buehrer at 614-466-8150 and Senator Chris Widener at 614-466-3780
Wednesday: Senator Keith Faber at 614-466-7584
Thursday: Senator Tom Neihaus at 614-466-8082
Friday: Senate President Bill Harris at 614-466-8086
If you live in:
North Central Ohio - Call the week of September 20, 2010
Northeast Ohio - Call the week of September 27, 2010
East Central or Southeast Ohio - Call the week of October 4, 2010
Central Ohio - Call the week of October 11, 2010
Northwest, West Central or Southwest Ohio - Call the week of October 18, 2010
With the following message:
Hello, my name is __________ and I am calling to talk to Senator ________ to ask for his/her support for HB 8, the Autism insurance reform bill, because I have/someone I know has a child with Autism. Can we count on the Senator's support for HB 8?
No matter where you live in Ohio, it is important that you call! Our efforts at the state level will not be effective without grassroots efforts! It is only one or two calls a day for each person, but when combined with the efforts of others around the state will have a huge impact. So make your voice heard today!
