Children's books are recognized for featuring characters with disabilities

Four children's books are being recognized today at the conference of the Council for Exceptional Children's Division on Autism and Developmental Disabilities for their inclusion of characters with developmental disabilities. The books receiving the Dolly Gray Children's Literature Award are: "Mockingbird" by Kathryn Erskine; "Waiting for No One" by Beverley Brenna; "My Brother Charlie" written by actress Holly Robinson Peete and Ryan Elizabeth Peete; and Rebecca Elliott's "Just Because.
