Description of study: We are conducting a study to learn more about what it is like to have a child with Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, or Pervasive Developmental Disorder in your family. We are looking for mothers and typically-developing siblings (ages 8-12) of children with ASD to participate in this study to help us understand more about your experiences, and the about the ways in which family members cope with having a child with special needs. The study would involve answering some questionnaires. To compensate you for your time, mothers will receive a $15 visa gift card for their participation, and TD siblings will receive a $10 visa gift card! Your child may also participate in a short phone interview if s/he is interested, and earn another $10 visa gift card. This research study has been approved by the Suffolk University IRB.
